Our Story
SOUTHERN TRUCK INSURANCE SERVICES INC was founded in early 1996 by Jim Parker. Before becoming an insurance agent and starting a business in this field, Jim owned and operated his own trucking company, J & A Trucking Inc, out of Wingate, NC, for 28 years. This experience paved the way for him to become an insurance agent who specializes in trucking insurance.

IFTA Record-Keeping Requirement
IFTA regulations require you to keep your records in your files for four years after the filed date of the IFTA return in the event of an audit. This will include:
- Mileage Records (Paper Driver Logs, Trip Sheets, or ELD Records)
- Fuel Receipts (Paper Receipts or Fuel Card Statements)
- Copy of the Filed IFTA Return
- Payment Receipt (If Applicable)
